About HIRADO

1.What did you get an impression of Hirado?

At arriving to Hirado, we thought it was beautiful to see, at the same time we felt a small distance. Over the course of time, by connecting to the people, the nature, the history of the place and traditions of food and gestures, Hirado revealed as a rich and beautiful treasure. With all the exciting stories of the past and present, our imagination was attracted even more: Hirado like a great hidden gem.
During the tea ceremony all these elements came together; through this ritual we experienced past and present at the same moment. For us it is a great honor to have this invitation to be part of the new history, which will hopefully bring more people to discover and enjoy what Hirado has to offer.


2.About sweets and products you are going to design,What are you going to infuse, explain with your design, art for Hirado?

Read the stars, find a trail.
Now in the beginning phase of our design process, we are thinking about the way our geographic locations have been connected over the course of space and time. We look at connections between the orientation points used for navigation in the time that our maritime interaction started. Like the knots in the rope of the sailors, we read the connections between trading posts, and how they brought together people and their cultural habits. This idea of melting through being bound together will influence the ingredients of the Hirado Sweets.
The choreography of the tea ceremony mirrors a navigation via the stars. This celestial navigation we will study and intuitively shape into a design for the design of our product. From this dreamy place, we will also like to incorporate the historical Dutch mercantile trade, and take a new position in it, in a new moment. From here we like to share the story and bring it to an audience around the world.

1.平戸についてどんな印象をもちましたか？

平戸に着いた時、ただ見ることにおいては美しかった、と同時に少しだけフィーリングの距離を感じた。
時間が経つにつれ、平戸の人々、自然、歴史、伝統的な食べ物、しぐさに触れて、平戸は豊かで美しい宝物のとして立ち現れてきた。
過去と現在の興味深い物語とともに、私たちの想像はさらにいっそう引き込まれていった。: 平戸はまるで、素晴らしい隠された宝石のようだ。
お茶会の間、これらすべてのものは一緒になって現れてきた、つまりこれらの一種の儀式を通して過去と未来を同時に私たちは体験した。
この新しい歴史の一部となるこのプロジェクトへの招待は私たちにとってとても誇らしく、このことが平戸が提案したいことを、より多くの人々が見出し、そして楽しむことをもたらすことを願っている。


２.あなたのデザインするお菓子とプロダクトについて、あなたのデザインやアートで平戸の為にどんな熱意や思いを注ぎ込み、なにを表現したいですか？

星を読み解き道を探す・・・・
今、私たちはデザインの最初の段階にあり、私たちは時空を超えて繋がる地理的ロケーションを考えている。
海で交流がはじまった時にナビゲーションとして使われた位置づけの点においての間に接点を考察している。
例えば、水夫の使うロープの結び目というような、私たちは貿易の立場とどうやって人々と彼らの文化的習慣がもたらされたのか、その関係を読み解いている。
この考えが一緒に混ざり合うことを通して溶け出すこのアイデアは平戸のお菓子の要素に影響するであろう。
茶道の振る舞いは星々経由して航法を映し出す。私たちが学ぶこの天からのナビゲーションと本能的な形は私たちのプロダクトデザインに投影される。
この夢のような場所から私たちは歴史的オランダの商業貿易を組み込み、その中、その新しい瞬間に、新しいポジションをとりたい。
ここから私たちは世界中の観客に物語を共有しそして届けたい。
