About HIRADO

1.What did you get an impression of Hirado?

Hirado felt like an open door to various unknown cultures but with a very rooted and strong cultural identity of its own. The various shades of blue that comes with the sea breeze interwoven with the rituals and customs that make a strong bond between the locals and the foreigners that come and visit.


2.About sweets and products you are going to design,What are you going to infuse, explain with your design, art for Hirado?

Coming from the impression Hirado left me, I thought about seeds as a metaphor for planting/ sharing culture and what grows in each others environment. Seeds can both be a trojan horse as well as new flavor and additional coloring to what already is.
Therefore I thought to base the design around: A sweet Symphony
With the sounds plays an important role.
The blues of Hirado as a musical score
The movement of sharing being the score.
The bite and taste like a symphony
From local to imported spices.
By making bowls and plates that are just off balance the sweets will move when passed along.

1.平戸についてどんな印象をもちましたか？

平戸は 根付いた、つよい文化、独自性が平戸自身にもちながら 知られていない文化やに心開いた場所であると感じた。 海風と共に来た様々な青い影はその土地にあるものと風習とを織り込み、訪れる外国人とそこに住む人々の間につよい結びつきを作った。

２.あなたのデザインするお菓子とプロダクトについて、あなたのデザインやアートで平戸の為にどんな熱意や思いを注ぎ込み、なにを表現したいですか？

平戸の印象が私に残したものは、文化を育てることや共有することにおいて種がメタファーのようだと思った。そして種はそれぞれお互いの環境で育つものだと。種はトロイの木馬のようにそこにすでにあるもに新しい匂いや色を付け加える、それゆえにデザインの根本的な考えを”スィートシンフォニー”と名付けた。

音は重要な役目となり
平戸の青は楽譜、導
そこに起こることを共有する動きは楽譜
噛むことと味はそれにより生まれたシンフォニー

スパイスは地方から輸入された 器やお皿をつくることは、不安定さであり、お菓子が手渡されるときにその上でお菓子は動きだす。
